Crested Butte to Re-Open on June 26th

A few weeks back, the town of Crested Butte announced they would reopen to outside visitors. Finally, Vail Resorts has released a statement announcing that the resort would reopen on Friday, June 26th. Summer has finally arrived and we are excited to see the lifts spinning and the mountain come alive again.

The statement mentioned “Resorts will open with a limited summer footprint focusing on mountain access and scenic lift rides. Lodging, restaurants, retail, biking and other activities will vary by location.” For Crested Butte this means that the Silver Queen chairlift will begin to operate for scenic rides and hiking trails will begin to open.

Part of the Covid-19 restrictions that Crested Butte has put in place include social distancing and limited seating at restaurants. Also they will not be accepting cash throughout the resort. The Butte 66 restaurant will offer grab n’ go type food and beverages for its guests. The resort is also asking guests to wear facial coverings when in high traffic areas and indoors. This will mean covering up when waiting in line and riding chairlifts. While hiking, please make sure to maintain a 6 foot distance from others.

This is the first step in Colorado’s resorts returning to normal operations. See Crested Butte’s website for more up to date information on what will be opening and when.

For lodging, the resort recommends maintaining physical distancing from other guests as well as employees. What better way to do that than to book an entire home for your stay. Check out Deluxuri and Rentalz to see what properties fit your needs.
